Reviving Hinduism VI — Indra’s Net

Mirrors have been discussed time and again in this series, and it is my personal favorite reference/tool that I would like to constantly go back to for describing versions of different realities that consciousness is experiencing as individual beings.

Each mirror is unique and beautiful.

What and why do we seem to be polishing all these mirrors for though?

That is a fundamental question we might come across over and over as we keep resolving different versions of chaos presented to us, for us to put in order.

In Hindu belief, it is revered that the universe is connected fully with a system called Indra’s net, which interconnects every being in the universe and then individual beings in this interconnected web are further defined as diamonds, vajra, or jewels.

The best sub-discipline to always closely look into, to define the macro-level definition of things is Physics and physics has given the study of mirrors, lenses and this is called optics.

Optics tells us that when a light ray falls on a diamond and the incident angle is greater than the critical angle, a phenomenon called Total Internal Reflection (TIR) occurs and that the light ray keeps continuously reflecting inside, increasing the intensity of the light ray before it leaves.

As discussed, when our mirror or diamond is polished, and the rays of information are subjected to us, consciousness, when present and grounded, is believed to raise the energy of that diamond/jewel/vajra or the mirror, and hence the ray of increased intensity leaves the jewel to hit multiple other mirrors that get constantly polished.

The universe can only be described on medium in any present, as art, or on paper as imagination and metaphors and thus this analogy helps us understand the concept of how we raise the potential of the collective consciousness as a whole.

Thinking on a 2-dimensional plane, this would look like a web of criss-cross patterns of light strings connecting each other in a symmetric interconnecting square-like form that stretches endlessly on the ocean, each junction having a jewel.

But I’d like to stretch it to 3-dimension and give it more depth by imagining a toroid of mirrors/diamonds that are in circular motion themselves which are converging and falling into the void with a constant velocity at one end and expanding to fill with jewels that are vibrating at an infinite frequency at the other, to form a loop of infinity.

This toroidal motion towards void and back to infinite particulate is constant, never changes, and also takes everything with it; be it darkness, or light. The infinite energy present in the system and the consciousness reflecting all of this phenomenon that was just discussed, this is popularly now referred to as the flow.

Conversation, therefore, after ego dissolution is a beautiful process of raising energies of two or more conscious entities involved, but only while being aware not to get over-excited and this can be constantly checked by always being wary of the vocal frequency range of communication that an individual is most comfortable with, and always reminding the self to stick to the same so as to not lose excess energy through the voice/throat chakra/Visshudhi/center of purification and expression.

It is like when two clean mirrors are held parallel to each other but are also rooted to the ground, and are also serving as media for the flow state to pass through them and in doing so, the gamma rays thus absorbed reflect against each other continuously and increase in intensity and all that is given back to the ground through the breath.

This is perhaps why therapy is a great way to have a conversation without judgment and this process is done to lay down all the weight that our shadow/ego is bringing. The process can be compulsively initiated by continuously learning to dissolve one’s ego in any situation to continuously and unconditionally love or by trusting someone as any cushion of a person who has been there for you for a long period of time and has helped you whenever you called out to them that you may fall into without a doubt.

Therapy is expensive.

Friendship and love are not. They are extremely powerful and comes free of cost; so melt your ego away in the heat of the powerful flow state energy that we are constantly subjected to, it’s not worth carrying this weight around.
